Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is partnering with Samaritan's Purse's Operation Christmas Child in a program to help introduce Christ to many children who received shoe box gifts. This optional discipleship training is called The Greatest Journey.
For just $6, you can help make an eternal difference in the life of a child who has never heard of Jesus Christ. Your gift will supply discipleship materials to a child who is eager to learn. For $90, you can supply materials to a classroom of 15 children. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference--an investment that can change a child's life for eternity.
The following video is provided courtesy of Operation Christmas Child. Because Samaritan's Purse Canada and BGEA of Canada are partnering on this discipleship training, you can support 'The Greatest Journey' initiative by donating to either organization.
Children across the nation of Haiti have been celebrating as they graduate The Greatest Journey discipleship course. One of these is Emmanuel.
Emmanuel's family was spared during the 2010 earthquake, but his life has not been easy. His father-a voodoo priest-abused him regularly in his younger years. His Christian mother left and tried to take Emmanuel with her, but his father would not permit such mutiny-at first.
Finally, he relented, and Emmanuel joined his mother in a safe place. He started coming to church with her a year ago and eagerly joined The Greatest Journey class.
"I like the story of Job," Emmanuel said. "He suffered like me and my brother."
On June 15, 2011-Happy Children's Day in Haiti-more than 10,000 children graduated from the discipleship course in churches throughout the nation.
Katie Simon Deshlouches, one of The Greatest Journey teachers, said the program has touched the entire community around the church. "It has brought a lot of new people here. They are now enthused to come to church and everyone brings their Bibles.
Some 700 churches throughout Haiti are participating in The Greatest Journey. With only 25 per cent of the country reporting so far, over 13,000 children have already committed their lives to Jesus.

In this 12-lesson series--available in 28 languages--children learn about the greatest gift of all, the "gift of. . . eternal life in Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:23, NIV). The Greatest Gift of All booklet contains colorful illustrations which explain the Gospel and help children grow in their faith or commit their lives to Christ. The lessons are taught by trained local volunteers who have a heart to see children become faithful followers of Christ. Children who finish the entire study receive a special New Testament and a certificate.
