Our KidzFest ministry is a child-centered, family friendly
series of events which presents the Gospel in an understandable way
at a one-day, FREE carnival and concert. KidzFest features God
Rocks! a children's ministry and performance group which shares the
Gospel message in a fun, dynamic, and kid-friendly way. In 2009,
KidzFest toured eight cities in Southern Ontario which resulted in
646 children inviting Jesus into their hearts.
KidzFest is so much more than a one-day event. In preparation
for the big day, many local churches participate in evangelism
training for their kids. This early training and preparation is so
valuable. We use the God Rocks! VBS curriculum and Operation Andy
program, which teaches children how to share their faith with
friends. The best part? The God Rocks! band is animated for the VBS
curriculum. When the concert comes to town, the children will get
to see these animated characters live on stage!
"KidzFest was an amazing event that brought our churches
together," said Pastor Vic Gayed, whose church participated in the
2009 tour. "Individually, we can do some things, but with the help
and support of KidzFest,we did far more than one church could have
done on its own. Together, we have started to have a mindset of
kingdom building! I believe this is just the beginning for our
community. It also brought volunteers together from various
denominations and we worked in harmony to share the good news of
Jesus to kids and their families...it was amazing!!"
How to Invite Your Friends
Sharing your faith can be a really scary thing. Our Operation
Andy program has devotional cards to help children talk about
sharing their faith and suggests ways to invite these friends to a
KidzFest concert. This is a great tool for Sunday school teachers
to use prior to KidzFest to introduce children to evangelism.
Families can also use these materials at home.
