Want your church to host a 'Sharing Hope in Crisis'
Seminar?
Man-made and natural disasters can happen at any time, but
co-workers, neighbors, and friends don't have to go through a
hurricane to experience a personal storm or a shattered life. In
these uncertain times, you can be confident that you can share
God's love and comfort in the midst of any circumstance.
The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team invites you to a one-day
seminar, Sharing Hope in Crisis, that helps equip the Body
of Christ to know how to engage in conversation and share the hope
of Jesus Christ with others who suffer from the everyday tragedies
of life.
The seminar will cover:
- Mission to Respond
- Suffering and Trauma
- Ministry of Hope
- Message to Share
- Ministry to a Diverse Community
- Messenger to Serve

Offering Support in Slave Lake, Alberta
In June 2011, Slave Lake was hit by a massive fire
which destroyed half the town, followed by a downpour which closed
highways and inundated basements. This combined disaster is the
most expensive that Canada has seen since the 1998 ice storms in
Ontario and Québec.
Since residents were allowed back into the town weeks after the
fires, RRT chaplains have been there assisting the community of
Slave Lake. Chaplain Merle has been working with pastors. He has
seen a good response from them as he builds them up to minister in
their community. It has been difficult because the pastors are also
hurting and many have lost homes. But, he said, "the fruit from
this is going to be incredible."
"Chaplaincy has left a good impression on people in the
community," said Merle. "The BGEA brings credibility to the
ministry we are doing in partnership with the local pastors."
Your support is crucial as the Rapid Response Team responds
quickly in any disaster. Please pray for these chaplains and the
families they minister to in the midst of disaster. Also, please consider making
a gift of $75, or any amount, to provide training and resources
for the chaplains to offer comfort and hope in difficult
situations.
