Rock the River is a multiphase
investment in a community. Working with participating church
partners and businesses, we train Christians to share their faith,
and we train churches to welcome and disciple new believers. While
evangelism is important in every phase, it is the primary focus of
the final phase, a high-profile outreach event involving live
Christian music and multiple Gospel presentations by Franklin
Graham.
The training process equips and encourages individuals and
churches to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others and
inspires them with an urgency to do so with all who will listen,
especially friends, family members, and co-workers.
This ministry includes gathering believers in prayer,
discipleship seminars, evangelism training events for young people
and adults, and putting Christ's love into action through community
service projects.
In Ottawa, all of this is focused toward two days of high-energy
outdoor evangelistic concerts featuring Franklin Graham and some of
today's hottest Christian bands. At the youth-focused outreach
event on Sept. 29, young Christians can invite their friends,
neighbors, and siblings to hear the message of Jesus Christ in a
way that appeals to them. At the family-focused event on Sept. 30,
people of all ages can attend and find God's truth compellingly and
clearly presented.
The Rock the River ministry leaves a legacy of churches
welcoming new believers and working together in
unity. The Rock the River experience also provides
fresh strength, hope, and encouragement for Christians of all ages.
The spiritual temperature of the city will have changed
for the better.
Past Rock the River initiatives - in British Columbia's Fraser
Valley, Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg - have hosted, in total,
more than 40,000 attendees on final event days. Equally impressive
are the thousands of youths and adults trained in evangelism
courses leading up to the outreach event. All in all, churches have
united in purpose, friendships have been forged, and corporate
prayer has been sent heavenward for the purpose of reaching family,
friends, and co-workers with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
