Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for God.

Billy Graham's Wild Rose Celebration is coming to town and they'll be here to rock out - Gospel style.

The event will feature performances by Rebecca St. James, Tree63 and Duggie Dug Dug as well a Gospel message from Billy Graham's grandson, Will Graham.  It will be held at the Black Gold Arena in Leduc April 7 to 9.

A year and a half ago, several churches in Leduc and Devon decided to invite the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to share their message with residents.  They are now actively involved with helping to plan and organize the event.  Pastor Mark Williams of the Family Worship Centre in Leduc, said his church wanted to bring the Wild Rose Celebration to town because they believe so strongly in what Billy Graham represents.

"He was a man of integrity all his life," said Williams of the world-renowned preacher who is now 87 years-old.  "We knew him as a man of respect so we wanted to work with that group of people."

He added that the goal of holding the event is to encourage those who have already found God, and to show Him to those who have not.

Involved churches are helping to arrange event volunteers as well as set up logistics such as sound and lighting.

Ken Anderson, project manager for the Wild Rose Celebration, said one of the purposes of the event is to bring together community churches of all denominations to work on a common project. Members of these churches are asked to come to the celebration and bring along friends and family.

"It's based on Operation Andrew," said Anderson.  "(Andrew) was a fellow who brought his friends to Christ.  We are asking people to do the same."

He stressed that everyone in the community is welcome to the cost-free event.

The event will begin Friday April 7 with a musical performance and a Gospel message from Will Graham.  Saturday morning will feature children's performer Duggie Dug Dug, while the evening will feature youth material, including a musical presentation from Tree63.   Sunday night wraps up with a performance by Kim Haller.  Will Graham will be in attendance all three days.
