The Central Alberta Celebration, featuring evangelist Billy Graham's grandson Will Graham is set for Sept. 28-30 at the Centrium.

William Frankling Graham IV (Will) is the grandson of Billy and Ruth Graham and son to Franklin, who is currently taking over leadership of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.

"I really enjoy Canada - especially Alberta. It's a beautiful place," he said during a recent interview from his Asheville, North Carolina office.

Will, 32, didn't initially see himself as following in his grandfather's footsteps.

"I had other things I like, more like working with Samaritan's Purse," he explains. " I thought I would do things like that."

He was also a pastor for several years and perfectly content with it.

But a visit to Barrie Ontario in 2003 changed his perspective.

The Canadian office of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association contacted him about an event in Barrie. After sharing at the crusade, he felt he was being led to do more in the future.

These days, he spends about half the year traveling around the world sharing the gospel, at the invitation of local churches and community groups.

As to this grandfather's rich legacy, Will says both Billy and his late wife Ruth always offered unconditional love.

At the celebration, there will be events and performances for all age groups, including a Saturday morning session with children's entertainers, God Rocks!, and a special youth focus on Saturday night.

Friday night features Will Graham, Tree63 & Panic Squad, starting at 7 p.m.

Wrapping things up on Sunday at 4 p.m. are Will Graham, Nicole C. Mullen & Panic Squad.

The event is free of charge and open to all.

"When I preach, I believe lives are changed. When lives are changed, communities change as well."
