Q:

Do you think God actually knows all about each of us? I guess my view is that He's too big and we're too small and insignificant for Him to bother with, but maybe I'm wrong.

A:

Yes, God is big; in fact, He’s so big and so great that He knows all about us! The Bible says, “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:13).

Think about that a moment. We are limited in our knowledge — but God isn’t. We are imperfect — but God isn’t. We don’t know the future — but God does. We don’t even understand ourselves or our motives sometimes — but He knows all about them. After all, He created the whole universe — from the most distant galaxy to the smallest subatomic particle. And He created us, and gave us a soul or spirit so we could have fellowship with Him.

Does it frighten you to think that God knows all about you — what you do, what you think, even your plans for the future? Perhaps it should — because some day every one of us will stand before Him in eternity. But listen: It doesn’t need to be like that — because God loves us and has provided the way for us to come to know Him.

That way is Jesus, who came from heaven to save us from our sins and bring us back to God. Why did He do this? He did it because God loves us. God isn’t a cold, remote, vague impersonal force who doesn’t care about us. He loves us — and the proof is Jesus Christ. Why not come to know God personally by giving your life to Christ today?
