The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada (BGEAC) is seeking an experienced Front End Web Developer to join its Information Technology (IT) department whilst supporting the cross-departmental Web team with the key role of creating and maintaining the technical Web design and development for public facing organizational websites. As an integral member of the BGEAC’s Information Technology department, this role will help BGEAC carry out its mission and objectives through participation in daily prayer ministry. The successful candidate will fulfill a full-time position in the Calgary head office.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Implement Web design, layout and graphical components for organizational websites
  • Serve as a member of the cross departmental Web team to help meet corporate objectives through maintaining public websites, determining priorities and identifying opportunities to improve the Web user experience
  • Ensure Web designs align with organizational print, advertising, social, and email marketing materials; responsible to align website forms and back office functions
  • Report browser compatibility requirements to IT leadership and ensure website usability in mobile and desktop environments among common browsers
  • Assist in maintaining, managing and configuring webservers
  • Maintain the tracking of website performance indicators and monitor websites for security vulnerabilities, performance issues, and out-of-date plugins, promptly addressing issues or concerns
  • Test functionality and usability of new website features and bug fixes


  • Qualified applicants should be committed to Christian values and precepts and be in agreement with the BGEAC’s Statement of Faith.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent demonstrated experience in Web development
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Web development and design
  • 3-5 years’ experience with PHP and WordPress in Linux environment
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop)
  • Strong responsive Web design skills
  • Advanced skills in, jQuery, JavaScript, CSS, WordPress, MySQL and PHP
  • Strong comprehension of Web standards and ability to apply understanding in implementation (i.e. HTML 5, CSS, etc.)
  • Experience implementing Search Engine Optimization techniques
  • Experience implementing and monitoring Web analytics
  • Experience with C#, ASP.Net and Linux server administration considered an asset
  • Self-motivated and proactive; able to work independently and in a high-performing team environment
