Hazel* went online in the middle of the night looking for hope. She ended up on YouTube as she looked for some way to help her husband of 13 years stop drinking.
His alcoholism and temper had taken a heavy emotional toll on her. Her search eventually led her to one of our chat team members. Hazel explained that her family only attends church on Christmas and Easter—and she did not know Jesus. Using Scripture, our representative explained to Hazel that she could have a personal relationship with the Savior. She followed along closely and then said a heartfelt prayer of repentance and faith.
Immediately her tone changed as she embraced God’s promise that “I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow” (Jeremiah 31:13, ESV).
“God knows my heart,” Hazel typed as her conversation with our team member came to an end. “I’ve waited for so long. I’m so happy right now.”
Please pray for Hazel and women like her as we share the hope of the Gospel, refer them to local support services, and connect them with Bible-teaching churches.
