Supporting Canada’s Protectors
Since, 2019 we have hosted more than 750 law enforcement officers and spouses at retreats across Canada.
Our annual retreats grow each year. In 2024, we welcomed 160 attendees (53 couples).
Speakers are related to Law Enforcement in some way, whether active or retired, to provide peer fellowship and understanding for attendees.
Chris’s Story
After 20 years serving in law enforcement, Chris* had experienced all impacts of the job—both the good and the bad.
“The things that we do and behold, it’s the clearest example of a broken world,” he shared.
After so many years relying on his own strength, the burden he carried with him began to take a heavy toll. Chris’ mental health began to decline as stress and fatigue grew. Many law enforcement officers struggle to seek help or feel isolated in their experiences or emotions. As Chris sunk deeper, it began to take a toll on his marriage with his wife Shauna.* Soon, their marriage was at breaking point. They needed hope.

About Law Enforcement Appreciation Retreats
Law Enforcement Appreciation Retreats welcome officers, individually or with their spouse, into a safe, peaceful setting. Understanding that there are unique pressures that officers and their families face every day. The law enforcement ministry supports officers by providing them with opportunities to grow in their faith, careers, and marriages.
Over the course of two days, officers and their spouses find encouragement, build community, and feel refreshed. It is a chance to develop spiritual fitness and be encouraged in Christ-centered growth in their careers, marriages, and lives.
The God of Hope
When Chris and Shauna heard about an upcoming law enforcement retreat, they decided to attend. Over the two-day event, the couple experienced fellowship, encouragement through expert speakers, comradery of shared challenges, and how to live with hope in the law enforcement world.
It was like a breath of fresh air for Chris as he was able to share his experiences, offer new wisdom, and even share his experiences to help other officers. For Shauna, it was like getting her husband back. As the burdens lifted from them, they experienced what it meant to be spiritually uplifted and rejuvenated. The event helped bring hope back into the couple’s life.
“To have people exposed to hope? There’s no dollar value to that,” affirmed Chris.
