Pray for Canada this National Day of Prayer

July 11 will mark the second annual National Day of Prayer, a gathering from across Canada that draws on the spirit of 2 Chronicles 7:14:

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14, NKJV).

Since July 9, leaders and believers from across Canada have been gathering in Ottawa, Ontario, to worship, seek God, and pray for Canada. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada (BGEAC) is partnering for this historic time of prayer, unity, repentance, and hope for our nation.

On July 9, BGEAC hosted the Christian Life and Witness Course (CLWC). The class helps to further equip and encourage believers to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ and boldly share Him with others.

Kendra drove over an hour from Ottawa Valley to attend CLWC with her husband and aunt-in-law, Brenda. “We’re being equipped to seek and to feel when God gives us that opening to talk to people,” said Kendra. “Where I live was once on fire for the Lord. I want the Holy Spirit to blow the cinders and ignite that fire again.”

“We’re praying that a fire will be lit in every home for Heaven and for Jesus … that God will hear and will heal our land,” added Brenda.

On July 11, thousands of believers will fill the streets in prayer and praise for the ‘March for Jesus’, which will conclude with a time of worship, prayer led by leaders from across Canada, and a proclamation of God’s Word.

Will you join us in prayer for our nation and its leadership? Canada needs the hope only found in the Lord Jesus Christ. As our nation faces great challenges, now is the time for God’s people to call on His Name and ask for His intervention.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16, ESV).
