3 Billy Graham quotes to help fight Coronavirus fears

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
—Lamentations 3:22-23

Sometimes the world seems hopeless.

With the frightening onslaught of the coronavirus affecting multiple facets of people’s lives, one can easily fall into a tailspin of anxious thoughts.

Where’s all the good news?

“My hope does not rest in the affairs of this world,” Billy Graham once said. “It rests in Christ who is coming again.”

As followers of Jesus Christ, we know there’s hope beyond this life—a glorious hope of something more, something greater than anything we can imagine, with no more sorrow or pain.

And until then?

With so much suffering and discord dominating the headlines—and even our personal lives—we may miss all the good things happening around us. Yet every day, there are wonderful opportunities to see God at work in the world and to express our gratefulness for His protection and provision. The book of Lamentations says His mercies “are new every morning.”

The following are some ways to help you cling to that truth:

1. Memorize Scripture.

“Memorizing the Bible is most important. ‘Thinking God’s thoughts’ will take the place of worried, anxious concerns.” —Billy Graham

>> These verses may be a good starting point to hold God’s truth in your heart.

2. Seek opportunities to share the peace of Christ—whether through social media, telling others about your hope in God, cleaning for a friend, etc.

“Suffering can give us opportunities to witness. The world is a gigantic hospital; nowhere is there a greater chance to see the peace and joy of the Lord than when the journey through the valley is the darkest.” —Billy Graham

3. Pray for wisdom and God’s will to be done.

“Pray for wisdom to deal with whatever is worrying you. Pray that God will act to change the circumstances according to His will. He doesn’t always do what we want Him to—but He knows what’s best for us, and He can be trusted.”
—Billy Graham

“Standing on the promises of God. He’s in control of all things.” —Mark

“Psalm 91, praying, meditating and confessing this psalm.” —Bernice

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart! Be cautious, but just trust Him! He never leaves us and will guide us all through this if it is His will! He knows how I die … I have faith in Him and I know that however I die, I will be in His arms! Pray for lost souls!” —Amy
