On June 7, the Municipality of Minitonas-Bowsman in western Manitoba was hit by an extreme rainfall event that dropped approximately 148 millimeters of rain in just a few hours. Approximately 180 homes have been impacted by the flooding.
Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) chaplains are ministering to Manitoba families by offering spiritual and emotional support to those who have lost precious possessions overnight.
“In the wake of a disaster like the flooding in Manitoba, people are often carrying far more than the physical loss of their homes and belongings. They are processing uncertainty, grief, exhaustion, and the emotional weight of rebuilding their lives. Our chaplains are present to listen, pray, encourage, and remind homeowners that they are not facing these challenges alone,” said Rapid Response Team Manager Tristan Klassen. “While volunteers help restore homes, chaplains help care for hearts, offering hope, compassion, and the love of Christ during a very difficult season.”
Please pray for the people of Minitonas-Bowsman who are overwhelmed in the aftermath of this flood. Ask God to bring them comfort and peace as they begin the road to recovery.
