Comforting Those Who Mourn: Ministry at Buckingham

The Billy Graham Rapid Response Team is offering emotional and spiritual care outside Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace following Queen Elizabeth II’s passing on Thursday.
Many residents of the United Kingdom are grieving as the queen ruled for more than 70 years, the longest reigning monarch in the history of the Commonwealth of Nations.
“End of an Era” signs are seen around Windsor Castle, as King Charles III, 73, was proclaimed king on Friday. Queen Elizabeth II was a personal friend of Billy Graham and the two had a shared faith in Jesus Christ.
Thousands swarmed Buckingham Palace on Friday, the day after Queen Elizabeth II was announced.
Brits have given thousands of flowers and mementos in honor and remembrance of the queen.
Chaplains are providing a listening ear to anyone who needs one.

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association has a long history of ministry in England, including holding evangelistic events there since the 1950s. Billy and Ruth Graham visited the queen on several occasions.
